Hello, my name is Robert and I have to say that I was skeptical about this whole skunkape thing up until today. I was taking my nephew on a scenic drive through the everglades, down off of Turner River Road. He is from the North so I wanted to show him some of the creatures that are native to Florida; gators, egrets, etc. At about 5:30, approximately 15 miles down Turner River Road we heard a noise in the bushes. I almost had a heart attack when to my astonishment a huge furry ape looking creature emerged from the brush. It let out a kind of rumbling grunt then ran across the road and disapeared into the bushes. I had no clue what to do, so I\’m hoping that maybe this encounter will help you in your research and tracking of the creature.
