While relaxing on our deck between 9:00 and 9:30pm, I and a group of 8 other adults heard a strange yelping sound that slightly resembled a chimpanzee that we had heard on several other occasions. But this time, there was something else in store for us.
Very soon after hearing the sound, we noted that many of the wildlife that had been loudly chirping earlier died down and we began smelling a moldy smell. The smell rapidly evolved into a cow manure smell that was extremely strong. The sound we had been hearing earlier that resembled a chimpanzee had stopped and all of us began talking about the terrible smell we were witnessing. A friend and I grabbed a flashlight on hand and went down to the edge of the woods behind our house and looked for some sign of what was giving off such a putrid odor.
After a brief look around the smell went away and we could not find any evidence of an animal that could have given off the smell.
