The sighting took place at the main back of the subdivision on the paved main street of the subdivision. This area is sparsely populated and most home sites are 5 or more acres. There are still huge expanses of undeveloped land and it adjoins cattle pastures and several small lakes.

Most investigators figure its a hoax, but there is enough doubt in their minds to order casts made of the size 18 foot-like prints found in a remote area of the Ocala National Forest.
